what not to eat while feeding...

I made the mistake the other day of ordering spaghetti at lunch while breast feeding DS - not the easiest thing to eat one handed, especially with my left hand. Didn't even think about it until it arrived. Plus after turning down a window seat I realised my boobs were reflected across the restaurant in a mirror.

Peas and gravy are also quite tricky to eat without dribbling on to the baby...

Any other dishes to avoid when you have a feeding baby between you and your dinner?

LOL!

Anything that makes a lot of crumbs - poor babies end up with flaky pastry in their hair, looks like cradle cap

Both of my poor ds's sometimes had muslins over their heads if I was eating while feeding them!

That ruled out just the tricky things like you've already mentioned op.

Soup too thinking about it!

Croissants. Even with a muslin over my baby, I still kept finding bits of flaky pastry down the sling and his babygro.

Overall though, I've found that I can eat most things surprisingly well one-handed. Haven't tried spaghetti though. The poor boy would probably end up with a pasta wig.

beetroot, obvious reasons
tomato pasta sauce - or if you do, remember that you had it later, instead of panicking & checking for blood

Flaming Sambuccas are a bit of a no-no I've found.

yyy to croissants!

lol
and anything your 5mo wants to grab
which at the moment is everything we're eating
makes dinner difficult!

cous cous. Got some stuck in dd's ear once.

The soup problem can be got round by putting it in a mug.

Gosh, can't remember. I'm sure it will all come back to me when ds2 arrives shortly.

I just eat everything and find the crumbs as a sort of midnight snack when I'm feeding later... DS doesn't seem to mind
