Am going back to work part time when ds is 6 months which is in a months time. He's breastfed but will accept expressed milk from a bottle from my mother who will be doing the babysitting whilst I'm away. I've always used a manual pump on one boob while he''s on the other and it's worked quite well although will only provide 4 oz max and takes forever. Have tried when he's not there and get even less and takes even longer. Would a battery operated/electric pump be much better? any specific recommendations?

The Medela Swing electric pump I've found awesome. But the kellymom website has good advice on pumping I believe...

medela mini electric was good - but very noisy.

It was fairly quick too and comfortable, it was just the noise of it that drove me mad!!

Another vote for the Medela Swing - I have to express after most feeds at the moment, it would be hell without the Swing

thinking the swing is the way forward!
