Is 12mo getting enough milk?

I'm bf'ing him 3 times a day (when he wakes up, in the afternoon and at bedtime) and up until a couple of weeks ago it was 4-5 times a day, as he would wake once or twice in the night for a feed too.

He is now sleeping through (hurrah), which means he's getting less feeds. He's otherwise on solids, obviously, and eats heartily. He's always been a big boy and weighs about 25 pounds.

My question is whether I need to supplement the breast milk with other milk (formula?) too?. His older brother was allergic to cow's milk and at some point I know we were giving him HA formula once or twice a day but can't remember how old he was then! .

I wouldn't give formula personally, I think he is getting enough. If you aren't refusing for taking him off before he is ready it should be fine.

Is he allergic to cow's milk too, have you tried him?

We don't know yet, a bit nervous to try so far. And I'd rather not give formula, so if 3 times a day is enough milk for him, I'm pleased.
