How do I know what teats are best for my bottle fed 2 week old ds??

He's taking forever to feed and falls asleep halfway thru a bottle... Have to try all sorts to keep him awake and then he falls asleep during winding too which makes it really hard work to get all his wind up... A friend suggested getting teats with bigger holes as she found her LO was getting tired out and full of wind with the smallest teats and so they switched to ones with bigger holes and this really helped them....this sounds like it may help ds but friend is using different bottles to us so my question is which avent teats should I be trying as were using avent bottles - have googled their wbsite but is not v clear - have you any advice ladies??

I am guessing the teats you have, have a 1 on them? try the 2 or 3 teats, you can always return to using the 1 if he struggles with the faster flow.

The Y cut teats have 3 flow rates depending on which line I, II, III is uppermost.

Try using the teat, and see how hard it is.

My sister used to bottle feed (years ago 30+ probably) and I remember the teat being enlarged by a sterile nappy pin! oh and using a washed out medicine bottle with a teat stretched over the neck, for older babies who drank juice etc!
