Hi!

I've been back at work for about a month now and BF DS in the morning, at lunch time (I work nearby), around 5pm and before bed at 8pm. He's on the go all the time and most days will only have short feeds (except for first thing in the morning and before bed). He also has several feeds during the night (we co-sleep). He has water with his meals in a cup, but won't take formula (from a cup or bottle). He's VERY easily distracted during day-time feeds and tends to crawl off after a couple of minutes or stats biting me ...I think he takes in enough solids during the day (he often eats like a horse!. He's quite a big boy and seems to need the milk at night to make up fo the lack of milk during the day.

How can I get him to take more during the day so he'll take less at night because I'm knackered!???? How can I stop him getting distracted? Should I just go cold-turkey on the night feeds?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Kalikaroo, would suggest he's just after attention at night and if you just give water fom a 'sippy cup' during the night that will soon sort itself out! Good luck.

i am a nanny with 13 yr baby experience by now he should be sleeping through the night from around 7 to 7am . he should be bf in morning and then half hour later or hour hour given baby porridge as more filling then lunch have meal and a piece of fruit chopped finely or pureed or yoghurt then sleep for hour and half then wake to bottle of bm that you expressed then dinner around half four five then to have a bath then bf then placed to bed where you should only go to at a couple of times cutting down to none . then eventually your be bf morning and night and express in day. also get him in to good practice when he older and they learn to sleep the whole night on own .good luck
