Help, my right boob is on strike!

Can anyone give me some advice please. For the last few days DD3, who is 15 weeks, has been fussing at my right breast pulling on and off and getting upset. She only calms down when I swap her to my left side and will happily feed. When I try to sqeeze milk out of right boob there is nothing there, boob feels soft even when left for several hours. Left boob however feels constantly full. I have been trying to put her on right boob more often to stimulate it more but she just gets upset. Have tried expressing tonight but nothing! I am not ready to give up breast feeding but obviously can not go on like this. Has anyone got any ideas why this has suddenly happened and what I can do about it?

Often babies prefer one boob so maybe the supply has gone down.

DOn;t know if this helpd but I fed happily from only 1 boob till DD was 18 months.

Similar thing happened to me, as the right was getting more blocked than the left (I seem to be prone to blockages - being dealt with by lecithin supplements). I persevered with putting DD to the right for the beginning of each feed, which she would accept more during the evening and night feeds, and the supply is getting a bit better - but still not as good as the left.

You can feed from one side only (yes, you will be a bit lopsided, but only you will really notice). Good luck.

I had a similar problem but my reduction in supply was due to milk blisters and blocked ducts.

I did the same as Minshu, just offered that side first at every feed, since DS was about 5 months old. Sometimes he barely fed from it at all but other times he would have a reasonable feed.

He is now 14 months old and still feeds on both sides, although the other side has always been his favourite and has remained bigger throughout!
