11 week old using me as a teether!

help.... my 11 week old dd has started teethimg and has decided to use my breast as a teething aid during and after feeding... Its starting to hurt even though no teeth through yet...

Any suggestions of how to discourage this without putting her off feeding?

When my two started biting me, I plonked them on the floor in a way that did not hurt them, but that made it clear that what they were doing was unacceptable. The sudden loss of feeding and contact with mummy soon got the message across and they stopped.

My DD did this too at this age (although her theeth didn't appear til she was 9 months!) I just left her and it sorted itself out; I recommend breaking the latch if it gets really painful- she might be just exploring how much control she has with her mouth ofer your milk supply and will stop doing it soon ...?

I found rubbing teething powders/gel on my baby's gums five minutes BEFORE I feed her and offering a chilled teething ring from the fridge to chom on just BEFORE the feed.

Really helped reduce the discomfort, though she still nursed a lot more when her teeth were bothering her (as she should do)
