need to supplement - by how much??

DD2 not putting on enough weight so doctor advised giving some formula which I dont have a prob with as with probably make the move over in the next month but how many bottles and how much formula should i give her? she is now 11 weeks and 9 5

i wouldn't give formula at all, i would give more breastfeeds.

If you want to stop breastfeeding anyway then I would start by offering about 2oz per feed and see where you go from there.

If you do want to carry on breastfeeding though it is possible to increase weight gain without giving formula. Your decision of course

Whatever you do, don't get anxious and try forcing the baby to take just a few more drops -- go with the baby's cues (turning her head away, refusing to open her mouth for the bottle). It's better to top up after bfeeding instead of bottle feeding first then trying to bf. Best advice I got was to not really look at the bottle after DC5 was finished, just pour any remaining ff down the sink.
