Is my milk drying up?

Ds is 5 weeks old and has always had a big appetite. After leaving hospital after complications DS was having 1 formula top up at night but as we began co sleeping i cut that out. The last 2 days ive noticed my milk supply hasnt been as good. 1 boob seems to hardy be producing any milk and the other 1 is but takes forever to fill.

The last couple of weeks ive found things really tough and know ive been stressed out and getting less sleep and i'm worried this has affected my milk supply. It seems the decrease in my milk has coincided with when i was most stressed. I started taking fenugreek yesterday to help my milk supply.

Is my milk drying up? If so once DS has emptied me after about 30 mins of feeding (a full feed used to take up to 2 hours) how long should i leave it before i give him formula and how often should i try and express?

Sorry for all the questions

ok am not an expert in bf or anything but didn't want your post to go unanswered (hopefully someone will come along in a minute!) but I will say the first thing is try not to get too stressed about your milk supply (easy to say-i know what I was awful for getting stressed about my milk supply but in retrospect i should have not have worried so much) or hung up on how full you feel etc as am not sure it's a great indicator

also babies get quicker at feeding as they get bigger.
does he seem satisfied after a feed? is he producing plenty of wet/dirty nappies?

i think the best way to keep up your supply is just to breast-feed as and when your ds wants it-giving formula will only decrease his demand for your milk and will have an adverse effect on supply

there is also a growth spurt at this sort of stage when he will probably want to feed more frequently as a way of getting you to increase your supply

and don't worry about expressing unless you have to for some reason

He's having good wet nappies but dirty nappies we're strugging with. He had a tummy upset about 2 weeks ago and was having a dirty nappy after every feed if not more often (about 8 per day). Then he didnt have a dirty nappy for 4 days but sorted that out on Wednesday evening and now there's been nothing since.

He seems to want more milk but then hes in the habit of sucking himsef to sleep and he has gone to sleep and knowing him, he wouldnt go off if he was still hungry so im guessing he is full.

I want to express if possible as my friend has offered to take DS for me which is a goden offer as im on my own but want him to have EBM rather than formula. Looks like his time away from mummy will have to wait and i'll have to get comfy on the sofa with some nice treats - it's a hard life!
