Formula in the US - weaker than UK?

Hello.

Title asks the question really. We are in the US for three months, and have been here for 2 1/2 weeks. DD2 (7mo) was going through the night at home, and adjusted to the jet lag pretty quickly when we got here.

About 10 days ago, we started her on a US brand of formula (ran out of UK supplies!). This coincided with her being quite sick with gastroenteritis. She was obviously up in the night for a few days until she got her appetite back, and I put it down to the sickness. However, she is now back to full health, but still waking once, sometimes twice, and the only thing that settles her is a bottle.

So, could it be that US formula is less filling than UK brands? It seems much thinner iyswim - there are no guidelines on the tin regarding how much should be given.

OTOH, she could have just got used to having a cuddle with mummy in the middle of the night when sick!

Any experiences welcome... TIA.

I don't know if the formula is weaker (but i wouldn't expect it to be).

When DS had gastro he started night waking again - took him a few weeks to catch up again after being quite ill for over a week.

i should think it is a coincidence with her being poorly, and no doubt having sickness and diorrhea, and she might well have los weight and is now making up for it with some extra feeds
