Baby on co-sleeping strike

My dd is now 4 1/2 months old. We have happily co-slept since her birth. She generally wakes up a couple of times to feed during the night and it's not too much of a problem becuase I just roll her onto her side, she feeds lying next to me and then we both doze off quickly.

However, for the last few nights she has point blank refused to sleep lying down. When I try and roll her towards me she pulls away, turns her face away and carries on screaming. She is, however, happy for me to pick her up and feed her sitting up.

So what is all that about? And any ideas about how to go back to sleeping lying down. It's much harder work this way.

Incidentally, she may be teething although there is nothing obvious coming through - but not sure how or why this would affect feeding lying down.

ear infection maybe? (sorry, but it's all I can think of!)

my DS is 4 months old, and we've had to adjust the feeding lying down position a wee bit as he's grown - sometimes he won't feed lying down, but it's almost always because he needs to burp - after a burp, he'll feed happily.

Thanks arolf. Don't think its an ear infection as she is chirpy the rest of the time. Will try burping and see if this makes a difference.

Anyone else with any ideas?
