Quick question: D&V - should I be BF LO today??

title says it all really, I'm ill, D&V, have done a couple of feeds today already and then thought maybe I shouldn't be today - have emergancy formula so could use that for rest of feeds today until I feel better (and express as boobs feeling a bit full).

Advice wanted pls

Essential to bf - this is the best way to pass on the antibodies you are already making to your baby (who may have been exposed to the same pathogens that caused your D&V). You pass on antibodies in the milk - not the pathogens.

So you can see suspending bf would be a bit crazy

Absolutely you should breastfeed. No reason not to.

When we had D&V here when DD2 was a couple of weeks old, she was the only one who didn't get it. BFed her throughout.

fakeplastictrees, just make sure you are washing your hands etc really thoroughly all the time so you don't pass it on to baby on your hands etc iyswim.
Otherwise, keep up the good work and make sure you are drinking and keeping yourself hydrated!
good luck

was going to say what tiktok said. Breastfeeding should help prevent the LO from catching the bug and/or help the LO to fight it off if they do catch it.
