Breast feeding bite wound problem

Hi all

I'm having an issue with a bite wound near my nipple. My 10 month old doesn't usually bite, but did on one occasion and slightly broke the skin. He isn't biting at the moment, but his teeth do dig in when he feeds and it is causing me considerable pain and my wound isn't healing. When I have no wound, his teeth digging in doesn't hurt or cause me any problems.

I have tried a nipple shield, but he won't feed at all. Is the only solution to not feed him on that side until it heals?

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful!

Have you tried good ol' Lansinoh to aid the healing?

How about if you try a different hold, e.g. with him sitting on your thigh, facing you (saw someone doing this the other day, looks hilarious but was quite a different angle so might be worth a shot)? I found that rugby ball hold was good for allowing DS to bite the other side of my boob the bites to heal.
