Help never fed this long before,
dt's are nearly 7 months and dt 2 has started biting nearly every feed. It really hurts
Its making me really nervous and tense when feeding, does anyone have any tips to stop it?

You have my sympathy- I'm in the same boat. here is a link I was given on a thread I started about biting. Hope it gets sorted.

Thank you paranoid, will try some of the techniques

I seem to remember that you can gently push your boob into their face so they have to let go to breath - I don't know if that would work for you. I just looked at the link (DS has been known to bite) and it looked very gentle.

Ouch! I got a gummy bite from my 19 week old twice today. Could he be teething? He gripped really hard and pulled. I yowled. Thanks for the above thread i'll read it later. I've only ever been bitten by my other 2 kids on the knees, this has taken it to another level. I hope to 'nip it in the bud'

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 20/01/2010 23:35

Chrysanthamum- my ds started doing that just before the 1st tooth came through. He then did it just before the 2nd

What age was he Para? My other children cut teeth much later but he has been v unsettled for a few days so that might be it.

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 21/01/2010 17:33

It was a few weeks ago now- I think he was about 22/23 weeks. My friend's baby is 4 weeks younger and got his first tooth at the same time though.

LargeGlassofRed · 21/01/2010 20:30

Dt's are teething, dt1 hasn't bitten for two days now yippee starting to relax again.

my ds nearly 7 mths and exactly the same prob. He bites mainly at ends of feeds or when comfort feeding. if really hungry he never bites. but it does really hurt, this is a v useful thread!

This is a very common phase and I remember the feeling of tension when worrying that it was going to happen. Babies soon learn that when they bite, the feed stops and they stop doing it. Sadly with my last baby she gave me a painful bite age 15 months. I screamed out in pain and she got such a fright. She just would not go back on. I tried for 2 weeks to coax her back on but she wouldn't have it. I had wanted to feed her longer as she was my last
