BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT GROUPS IN WINCHMORE HILL?

Or surrounding area?

Hi there
My little sister is due in a few weeks and is keen to breastfeed (her 1st DC). She has attended a breastfeeding workshop at Chase Farm hospital (which runs a bf support group on a Monday) but is still sounding a bit nervous/unconfident about the whole thing. I have finally excl bf my 3rd DC (and decided to continue even though he is 6.5m) and really feel that me attending bf support groups on a weekly basis for the first 6 weeks helped me gain confidence, deal with latch issues and so on. I think the same will help my sister.

I have tried to google this info but couldn't find anything so if you know of a bf support group in Winchmore Hill or its surrounding area please post.

TIA.

My best friend lives in Winchmore Hill - she's just had her 3rd ds (well about 8 months ago!) I will text her as she might know of some groups

try the local children's centres - info here - looks like a few of them run baby cafes

also, it looks like the local NCT have a breastfeeding counsellor

might also be worth her getting in touch with her local community midwife team now to find out if they can refer her to a breastfeeding counsellor or peer supporter who will visit her at home in the first couple of weeks.

pointing her in the direction of mumsnet might also be a good idea

Not specifically a Bf group but the Stork Club for new mums in Enfield is v BF-friendly and a great place to get support and make friends. Used to be at Bush Hill Park community clinic but it's a couple of years since I went so worth a call to check.

I think the NCT do a bumps & babies group in Enfield.
