Tommee Tippe Breast Pump Problems

Hello,
I've just started using the Closer to Nature electric breast pump and am having problems with milk being drawn up the air tube. It's happened both times I've used it and as it's the only way of getting a decent amount of breast milk into my 5 day old baby I'm less than happy about it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this happening? Or is it an inherent problem and I should just cut my losses and get a different pump now?

Congrats on your new baby

I also have this pump and have experienced the same problem. It seems that the milk collects in the fitting at the top of the bottle instead of dripping down, and when it gets to a certain level it seems to then go up the tube. The way round it I've found, is to stop at the very first sign of milk up the tube, take the pump off the breast and tip the bottle sideways slightly. This causes the buildup of milk to flow into the bottle and the tube will not fill again. A complete and utter faff I know, especially if you're using it a lot of the time. I only use every now and then so live with it. I don't know if there's a better fix, but hopefully that will allow you to use it in the interim.
