My little girl is 6 weeks old and i am bf exclusivly. for the last couple days after feeding her i start to wind her and then she starts to cry. I was wondering how i can tell the difference between her still being hungry or if she has a bit of trapped wind that needs to get out. The crying only seems to last a matter of minutes. Could it be a growth spurt?

Try offering her the other side...if she's hungry she'll have a bit more.

Does she stop crying after a burp though? Does she burp at all as maybe she doesn't need winding anymore as they do grow out of the windy stage.

What are your instincts telling you - wind or hungry? .

Hi,

When this happened to me i used gripe water and then fed her on the other side. Cover all your bases! My mum told me that babies with wind can look slightly blue around the mouth! Not sure if thats true or not!
