DS was happy with 7oz every 3-3.5hrs but now he wants more - the Aptamil box only shows instructions to make up to 7oz (7 scoops in 7oz water)

To give DS the extra 1-2oz he is wanting do I make up more per bottle (as in 9 scoops to 9oz water) or do I need to make up an extra bottle ?
?

Sorry for the idiotic question.. It's probably something everyone but me knows the answer to!

I should add - he won't drink more frequently than he already does.. I tried to increase his feeds per day but he won't have it ..

but I would think you can just make bigger bottles (depending on the size of your bottle)? One of my aunts kids used to drink 16oz then sleep for 15 hours!

I'd give him a little more - 8 or 9oz (8 or 9 scoops), and/or try every 2.5-3 hours rather than 3-3.5.

Probably one of those famous growth spurts people talk about (never noticed them with my two though) and he'll settle back down to bigger gaps between feeds in a week or so.

Yes you can just add 9 scoops of powder to 9oz of water, that is fine.

I think it is possible to buy bottles which will take up to 11 or 12 oz but probably easier to make up two smaller bottles. A friend of mine ended up feeding her DS 2 full bottles of hungry baby milk per feed just before she started weaning him because he drank so much!

If you are thinking of trying hungry baby milk you should be aware that it slows digestion rather than actually containing more calories and so is likely to make the baby feel fuller for longer but may not be as good for his digestion. (Not saying don't use it - just wanted you to be able to make an informed choice if you did decide to )

Thanks for the replies - I have upped his bottle from 7oz to 9oz and he's much happier!

I couldn't get him to have an extra feed for some reason - not sure why he wouldn't have it but the extra seems to be doing the trick!

Thanks again!
