Introducing Bottles - HELP!

Hello everyone - My daughter is 5 1/2 months now and has taken to solid ( ish ) food extremely well. As I am working more hours ( she does come to work with me ) I really need to try and get her interested in taking a bottle - but - no dice! She really doesn't want to know. Does anyone have any advice on how to persuade a small wriggling thing that every now and again a bottle is a good idea!!?

Hi, Sobhan,

she shouldn't need to drink out of a teat at 5 1/2 months- have you tried he with a beaker? I found my breastfed dd took well to an Avent magic cup, though it took a while for her to get used to it. We took the valve out at first to let her get used to the idea of fluid coming out of the spout, then put it back in to prevent spills.

I had the exact same problem with my dd, now nearly 8mths. Tried her on a bottle for ages and she screamed and wriggled and I got v down about it. Someone recommended NUK bottles (can get at Boots) to me as they have a different teat and she still fussed over them. HOWEVER, once she had been weaned on baby rice for a week, I tried her again with the NUK bottle - she was sat in her bouncer chair - and she glugged the whole thing down! Don't know if it was because she was used to different foods, or she was sat in the chair (not near my boob maybe???) but I haven't looked back since. Try not to get too down like I did as it ruined the final stages of breastfeeding for me. Good luck!
