His 'research' will no doubt have been sponsored by a formula manufacturer.

See they wheeled CBC out to give us her 'wisdom'. Shame she has no bf qualifications or experience of her own.

on behalf of people who can't see through this sort of misinformation.

foxytocin · 07/01/2010 15:30

here is the other thread about the same paper. This story actually a piece of yarn created by the journalists who has completely misinterpreted the research and extrapolated it into an idea which bears no resemblance to what the research paper is all about.

How thick can a person be and still become a journalist.

foxytocin · 07/01/2010 15:31

the Baby Friendly Initiative has already written a statement about this gross misinterpretation of this paper. here

thumbwitch · 07/01/2010 15:32

they just cherry pick the bits that they can string together to make something completely fallacious out of a piece of research - a skill in itself, foxy. Not a good one, mind you.

foxytocin · 07/01/2010 15:36

oh, thanks for that TW. I just thought that it was just because they were thick as mince.

thumbwitch · 07/01/2010 15:54

that too, foxy, that too!

cakewench · 07/01/2010 18:50

These articles on breastfeeding give them a big spike in hits and comments, so they've got incentive to say such inflammatory things. unfortunately.

pigletmania · 08/01/2010 09:14

I ff as bf did not work out and i would personally never think such rubbish, of course breastmilk is the best thing than formula which is synthetically made, but if needs must imo, i think mine would be full of rubbish the amount of crap i eat though

Is the point of the research to prove that what happens in the womb is more indicative of a baby's wellbeing than whether you bf or not?
