17 week old hungry all the time!

My 17week old ds is FF (was BF for first 5 weeks). He is draining 8oz bottles every 2-3 hours! I keep being told he should be able o go 4 hours.

he is definitely hungry as i try all other ways of soothing him, and he drains the bottle right down (eyes rolling back happiness)

My mum suggested weaning, which i don't want to do really. My friend suggested hungry baby formula.

My main concern is making him fat- silly i know, but i have always struggled with my weight and everyone says how FF babies are more likely to be obese.

Is it ok to keep feeding him frequently?

Hi. I also have a 17 week old who has just come out of a 2 week period of constant feeding - I am bf him though, so don't have any specific advice for you about ff, but my instinct would be that if he's clearly hungry then you should feed him. I assume he is satisfied by the feeds and sleeps well after them?

I was feeding my ds every 2 hours at the peak of what I assume was a growth spurt! I know some people do wean early ( I did myself with dd) but 17 weeks does seem very young to me, and it's no guarantee that it will help him go longer between feeds - at this age he'll still need as much milk.

How many times are you feeding him in a 24 hour period - I personally wouldn't worry about making him fat...he's just demanding what he needs at this stage.
