Getting drunk

I am going to engage in some festive cheer tomorrow and plan to have more than my fair share of alcohol. Ds is 7 months and I have a good supply of EBM in the freezer. So I want to know how long after drinking I can feed.

Obviously DP will be doing the night feed, but can/shall I do the morning one or not. I will probably get in at 1am. Ds gets up at 7/7.30am.

All advice gratefully received - thanks...

Depends how much you drink! Think your body is supposed to metabolise about a unit of alcohol per hour.

Depends how much drink as pp said.
I went out last week, DP gave DS bottle of expressed at bedtime then in am (doesnt feed in night) half6-7 i fed as normal, I got in at 1am had 4-5 drinks..

I wouldn't worry too much. The amount that goes through is tiny, your LO is 7 months, not a newborn, its a one off, and you'll have metabolised a good amount after you pass out have a good sleep.

If its any help, a friend was recently told in an NCT BF class that you could have 6 units without it affecting the baby in any way at all. But not sure where this figure came from, sounds made up to me

However.... if you've got enough EBM, why not get DH to do the morning feed as well, you can sleep it off at leisure, and express if you need to when you come to?

Have a good night out, you've earned it, and have one (or four) for me
