What a waste!

Have just thrown away bottles and bottles of defrosted EBM. (Probably 5-6litres of the stuff!) I built up a stock while DD was in SCBU for 9 weeks (must admit, I felt like a dairy cow!) but she won't take defrosted EBM in any form since being discharged - not in a bottle, cup or mixed in with foods now she's being weaned. I looked into donating to a milk bank but I was drinking too much caffeine during this period, so couldn't donate. Have held onto it for the maximum 6 months, because I couldn't bear to waste it all, but it's just gone down the sink.

I feel your pain! Have only had to throw away smaller amounts than you, but had to get dh to do it, as I just couldn't bring myself. And that's without the added stress of having had a baby in SCBU at the time. People just don't understand the emotional attachement to ebm.

I just told myself it was good for my milk supply to express, so it wasn't a total waste. Not much consolation I know!
