Formula with 1 year old

My DD is 12 months old, and is currently having 2-3 7oz bottles of Aptamil easy digest per day.

I put her on the easy digest at 3 months as she was very windy, but she has no digestive problems now... it's a bit of a PITA to mix up TBH, as it has to be mixed with warmer water.

I would like to change her to something else, but not really sure what I should be doing, or what considerations I need to take into account; should I use cow's milk or another formula?

Anyone know the pros and cons?

full fat cows milk is fine from 1 year. I changed over gradually e.g. changed 1 bottle to cows milk and left the other as formula foe a few days and then when they were ok with the change I swapped the other bottle to cows milk too. My lo's never seemed to notice the difference.

Thanks, Seona- is it better to use cows milk instead of 'toddler' milk or some such? Apart from the cost implications, obviously...

they should be getting the majority of their nutrients from food and milk is more of a drink from 1 year. I feel that toddler milk/growing up milk is a bit of a con and that cows milk is perfectly adequate. If you felt your lo needed more vitamins, etc than cows milk contains then use cows milk alongside vitamin drops which would work out cheaper than the formulas.

I totally agree with Seona, cows milk is totally fine and the follow-on type formulas are a total rip-off. Its one of the ways formula makers get round the no-marketing rules on infant formula - they advertise the follow-on version then people recognise their infant brand in the supermarket.

Its worth keeping an eye on how she reacts but as most formulas are made with cows milk as their basis it should be fine.

BTW, I do always have one bottle of the ready made toddler milk in the cupboard in case I run out of cows milk or its gone off or something.

And it should be full-fat cows milk not semi-skimmed.
