Can I rebuild BM supply? 8mo DS

My DS has really cut back on milk feeds at 8mo, I was down to:
7am sometimes a little
2pm sometimes a feed before nap
6.30pm feed
4am sometimes a feed
So some days could just be one feed. For the last week we've both had a stinking cold and his nose is only just now clear enough to feed properly, only he's now been getting so tired and past it that he's refusing his 6.30pm feed and more often waking in the night, and it seems all this has really affected my supply.

I go back to work in a month, would like to express for the following day's 2pm feed I thought he'd still have.

OR

Since he's not arsed about a 2pm feed do I just ask them to give him water and hope he will take more in the evening?

Are you thinking you would like him to have more milk?
SOunds to me, he's gradually weaning to solids and that he wouldn;t be effected if he 'missed' a feed while you were at work.

Your supply will change to what ever your situation is.

Does he drink anything else but milk?

Your supply will be fine- whatever your ds takes / doesn't take, your body will adjust to his needs within a couple of days.

If you want to express ready for going back to work, and you're worried you haven't got enough, start by expressing a small amount every day and gradually build it up. Choose a time of day he doesn't usually feed (straight after breakfast?) so you'll have made plenty more by the time he wants some.

Personally, I never had an issue expressing a full feed at any odd time, without any build up, and it never seemed to affect my supply.

Thanks for replies, he has water with meals and in between has sips too. He does have milk on cereal and in porridge, and in food with cheesy sauces.

I do think I've been feeding him too much solids (although he's never refused anything and would eat and eat - but is off the chart for height and 80th centile for weight).

He woke in the night but would not take the breast at all, he screamed and screamed. Eventually DH got him to take a bottle of formula, he took 160ml, then went straight to sleep.

I just think that i've not got much milk as supply has adjusted to his massive drop in requirements, plus him not wanting to nurse with bunged nose.

Does it sound like he's getting enough milk? His diet is good imo.
