Are vitamin supplements really necessary when bfeeding?

I've been taking pregnancy/breastfeeding vitamins every day since becoming pregnant with DS, now 21 months. I'm still bfding him, amazingly!

I was wondering whether these supplements are actually still necessary/advisable at this stage, given that I'm only feeding him a couple of times a day and try to eat reasonably healthily most of the time?

Just thought I'd see what others thought.

They're not necessary at any time if you eat healthily, including lots of fruit and veg. Possible exception if you're on long-term antibiotics as they can inhibit the body's absorption of vitamins.
