Question about Medela pump

The instructions for the Medela Swing say that, as well as obviously washing the parts before use, you should boil them in a pan. Does anyone know if you can put them in steriliser instead, or is some pratical reason why not?

Sorry if this daft question, have only jusr got round to sorting out the pump with 4.5m DD.

I can't see why you couldn't use the steriliser. I just boiled, cause that's what it said and I was a paranoid first time Mum of a week old baby. LOL.

For subsequent uses I just sterilised in steam steriliser though.

The boiling was only for tubes etc.

Thanks LilRedWG

Any more views on this?

a 4.5 month old is pretty tough.
i think boil for the first time is sound advice.

I've got the same one - boiled it first time but have since put it in the microwave steriliser and it didn't melt

Thanks!

I have boiled it once so hopefully that's ok. I have a steam steriliser though, not microwave one.

I didn't even read the instructions. I think I just washed it before I used it!
