BF-friendly outfit for January wedding

I'm going to a friend's wedding in January and have nothing suitable for breastfeeding while I'm there. Has anyone seen anything that might do? I thought a smart wrap dress but they seem to have gone out of fashion so the only ones I can find on the internet are a bit maiden-auntish.

How about a smocky dress over nice trousers? I wore this to a December wedding when son was six months.

Wouldn't a wrap dress leave you pretty much naked while feeding? I would definitely go for something with two pieces, maybe a smocky dress like golden pig said with some buttons down the front if poss as otherwise you'll end up with it all creased if you have to hoik it up to feed. And maybe a pashmina-y sort of a thing handy to avoid too much exposed skin in chilly January weather (or hide regurgitated milk stains!). Sorry can't give any concrete examples but I'm in the wrong country.

I had a similar problem for a wedding I went to in the summer.
I did lots of searches on various clothes retailers websites for "button dress" - I wanted to wear a dress - had not done so for so long! - but need button up access!
I found something on ASOS.com - I ordered about three dresses from there that looked suitable and sent the two I didn't want back. Since you get free delivery over a certain spend it was actually cheaper to order more and send some back!
I just looked on ASOS and the dress I bought is still available half-price. (Not sure if I can post a link, but if you search Ted Baker frill dress it comes up). It is a Ted Baker knee-length dress with buttons to the waist and frill detail on the top. I love it but of course may not be everyones thing! The only problem was the buttons were more for decoration than functionality, so a couple came off through overuse! So I would add reinforcement to them if you go down the button up dress route!

How about any of these?

I agree a wrap dress is great to feed in. If you put a nice cami/vest underneath you aren't really exposed.

I have a FWM wrap dress and it really hides a multitude of sins!

I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and wore a tea dress from H&M that had buttons down the front. It was Navy but came in red too. I just jazzed it up with hot pink shoes and necklace from New Look. It was easy to feed it and ds was only 6 weeks so he was still being a messy eater

Isla, the Ted Baker dress is utterly gorgeous but at my height I think it would either have to be worn over trousers or risk showing my knickers!

Sofaking, I didn't look at John Lewis but am wondering about the Planet one. I've never bought anything from Planet (always thought of it as an older brand) but it's not black, which is a good thing. Will also look out for Confuzzled's H&M dress as well. Thanks everyone!

I know when I went to a christening when EBF I really wanted to wear a dress but honestly it was a bit of a nightmare and I wish I'd worn a nice top and skirt! I had to practically take the dress off to feed so I ended up running off to the toilets all the time - not very nice - until someone lent me a shawl and then I sat there in a little tent

I bought this to wear to my DD's christening last weekend - it's a Grecian style mock-wrap dress with hidden breastfeeding holes, comes in loads of colours, and can be glammed up with a gorgeous shawl of jacket... I also have it in Lilac and Navy cos its sooooo gorgeous!! Much nicer than the pic!

knee length, and i'm quite tall so that's great! i wore it with a black and red brocade coat, 'twas gorgeous...

I would advise wearing separates, with nice vest/cami or feeding vest underneath so you can easily hoik that bit down and the top bit up. I live in my Bravado feeding tanks, and they look lovely as well, and come in a few different colours.

I bought a special nursing dress for my daughter's christening a few weeks ago. The dress itself was lovely, but I wish I'd road-tested it before hand.....the bf 'slits' weren't very easy to get to and the shape of them meant that it was nigh impossible for poor little DD to feed discreetly without also getting mouthful of cloth. So I ended up having to keep retreating to a corner at the party where I could pull the dress down at one side, which rather defeated the object of buying it......
