Do u wind if fed to sleep

Title says it all really. Do I disturb my 10 week old and wind after a night feed if she is asleep ? She is hard to settle so really don't want to risk waking her if I don't need to.

I never did. Mind you, I never really winded at all and never seemed to cause an issue.

If she's fed to sleep I hold her upright for five minutes or so and hope for the best... if that hasn't worked I try stroking her back, and have a feel of her tummy. If it's like a drum I continue to try to gently wind, if not I put her down and see if she settles...

If she doesn't seem bothered, then don't bother.

If, OTOH, she gets restless relatively soon after feeding, especially with groaning or drawing up legs, then she probably does need winding. Do you feed her lying down, or do you put her down once she is asleep? If the second, then you should be able to wind her without disturbing her, just by holding her upright for a few minutes.

DD had really bad wind up to 12 weeks but even then, she didn't need winded if i fed her at night lying down - could hear things churning about too and used to expect the worst but it never came to anything.

Sometimes she would have a big burp when i picked her up in the morning but it clearly wasn't an issue in the night or she would have quickly let me know!

You could wind her 3/4 of the way through the feed, used to do this when I was feeding her at the edge of the bed to put her in her cot at the start of the night, that way she would still drift off but the wind was out.

I feed lying down. I will try keeping upright I think then put down. Thanks for sharing.
