i dont knowe what this means ds is 14 months bf no probs at all and iv noticed today and yesterday when he comes off he's leaving teeth marks on my breasts its not painfull and he's not biting i had noticed that his feeds didnt seem to be quite so 'effective' but apart from this he's fine not fussy at the boob or anything so what could this be?

I find it get this from time to time. often it happens when ds is adjusting to new teeth somehwere in his mouth -i guess he is trying to get used to the feel of it.

sometimes just moving him along a bit helps relieve this (as sometimes, after a while it does get a bit ouchy).

Agree that it sometimes happens when they are getting used to new teeth.

I found by that age that both ds and I had got a bit sloppy with latching - any old way would do!! - and going back to the basics of getting a good latch helped. I also seem to remember sitting him on a pillow for a while to raise him up a bit to stop his teeth dragging on my nipple.

Top teeth? Or bottom teeth?

I think top teeth is normal (at least, I had teeth marks on the aereola, with both DSes), but bottom teeth is a sign of bad latch.

yay. good news.

I notice that sometimes ds just hoovers up my nipple so I have to be very vigilant at making sure the latch is decent at least some of the time.
