When did AF return?

Hi all

I am still BF 11mo DS but only one feed a day (sometimes two if he bashes my chest and moans hard enough ) as I am back at work. I have been doing one feed a day for about a month now. My AF still hasn't returned since becoming pregnant, is this normal? When did your AF return after pregnancy/BF-ing?

6 months, still bfeeding night and day...seemed a bit unfair

27 months with dd1, she was feeding overnight and multiple times during the day. No sign yet with dds2&3, at 16 months. I've read others say that they needed to stop bf completely before their cycle returns, don't know how common that it is.

Thanks - am still interested in other responses too. I am having a paranoid day and thinking I am pregnant - I think its just a bloated tummy and its probably the lack of sleep in the past couple of nights but I am feeling completely irrational about it!

BTW - lack of sleep is not due to lots of sex, just DS waking up in the night, I wish it was the former!!

Would like to know the average time before AF begins again... so loved not having her visit -the old bag!

Mine came back the day before my DS turned 1. Was only bf first thing and last thing by then.

Can't remember with DS1 but this time round it was 10 months after DS2's birth. He is down to only 2-3 feeds a day and had been for a few months when dear old AF came back. Sigh.

9 months both times.

DS1 I fed for 7 months and ds2 I fed for 12 months

9-10m with DD, 14m with DS - he is a much keener feeder.

5 months despite still feeding on demand.

about 8 weeks, I had my first a few weeks ago. How crap is that?

mine came back precisely four weeks after stopping bfing, all three times
I must be a weirdo. Btw that would have been 11 mo after ds1, 12mo after ds2, 18 mo after dd.

With DD I think it returned when she was 8 months and started to feed less.

DS is 6 months and still no AF - long may it continue

I'm the same as hobbgoblin this time with dd2, first AF when she was about 8 wks. I'm expecting the third AF soon. And yes....it is crap. I'm really peeed off that she has returned so soon even tho' I'm fully BFing.

AF returned pretty quickly with dd1 also at about 3/4 months, and she was BF until just before she was 2.

Only after finishing, 3 months after stopping BF DS1 (so 13months postbirth), and one month after stopping with DS2, which was a more gradual stop at 16 months. I was pregnant again a month after that though.

There are so many different dates on here. What happens if you are BF and you want to conceive again, I don't want to yet but if I did in the next few months then would I have to stop BF?

28 months here, am still feeding day and night. I worried about the 'what if I wanted another' thing too.

Some people get theirs back v quickly, I'm not sure what you would do if you wanted another baby. I didn't cut down really, it seems quite arbitrary.

Some people have to stop, some people have to cut down, some people don't need to do anything. Its one of those piece of string questions..you won't know for yourself until you try.

Sorry I meant to say they just came back at 28 months! I think they just got too impatient and couldn't hold out any longer

My AF came back...today

DD is 4 months old and exclusively BF - why, why, why?

I bf both my dc's until they were about 11 mths. My af didn't return with both until I had stopped feeding completely. With the first it was almost immediately after, the second, it was about a mth after I had stopped bf that my af returned.
