Flu vaccine while breastfeeding

Kellymom says this is OK - this advice would apply in the UK too wouldn't it? I know that it is OK when you are pregnant as checked last year - but cannot find it on the NHS website. Any link gratefully received before I hassle the HVs. Thanks in advance.

Kellymom will refer to US version of the vaccine, which is said to be different from what we'll get.

I would ask your GP; they are usually ultra-cautious and very likely to say No rather than yes unless they get specific guidance from on High that it is ok. How old is your breastfed LO?

He is 11 months. We get offered it at work FOC. This is the winter flu vaccine I am talking about not Swine Flu.

Ah, so as a generic thing is it okay, I get it.
NHS and Patient.co.uk seem to say it's fine for breastfeeding moms.

I am breastfeeding a 19month old and am going to get swine flu jab if it's on offer, mostly to protect LO, really, who seems to get everything really badly compared to my previous toddlers.
