green nappies advice needed

Hi I have asked the HV and tried the bf advice lines as well. Need some more advice

My lo is bf for 7 weeks. Last week the lo has been going from normal nappies to slightly green nappies.

Weighed her today and she hasn't put the huge amount of weight that she normally puts on in a few days.

Busy week last week for both of us with events.

What I want to know is am I feeding her too much foremilk and advice on reducing this foremilk. I do tend to feed her on one breast at a time and encourage her to stay on one for a while. If she doesnt finish during the feed put her back on for more if she grizzles for more food, try and ensure that she has at least 30 minutes on the one breast. Might be 15 minutes on the one breast and then put her back on again later on for another 15 minutes if I can.

Yesterday her nappies were going back to normal. Last night she slept a 7-8hour stretch without a feed. She woke up early hours and wanted food. My breasts were incredibly full and hurt me. I fed her, she only wanted 10 minutes and went off to sleep. I then fed again on the same breast 3-4 hours later. She had 10 minutes again.

Her nappies today have been green again. What am I doing wrong. I do have a lot of foremilk as it pours out when she feeds and she is obviously not reaching the hindmilk at the moment. What should I do ???

Do you think you have oversupply?

Sometimes this can cause green poo, but often green poo just happens for no apparent reason.

Don't worry about green poos. A lot of babies go through stages of this and it sorts itself out and doesn't really mean anything. I bet you will be back to mustard yellow by tommorrow or the next day

had the same and spoke to a bf consultant (randomly met in a cafe - how lucky!).
she was telling me really don't worry. has all settled down now with a green poo happening only once in a while. pretty sure i had oversupply but all seems regulated now.

I can sometimes be caused by things you have eaten apparently. I was told spicy food or red wine can cause it. Obviously I avoided both .

It can [blush}

My DD had green nappies for months from very early on to about 12 weeks. No problems, put on weight fine. If she's OK otherwise, don't worry, might just be normal for her.
