posted on the health forum but got no answers!

Had mini pill with DS1 - hence DS2 LOL, was useless at remembereing to take it at same time every day! thought bout injection but know a couple of people who had problems with it.

GP recomended coil but for some reason feel more comfortable pumping body & DS2 with hormones than a bit of metal, also heard it makes periods longer and you cant use tampons??

So what do you reccomend???

Just to add something different although I know not many like these I bf ds and I can't take any pills as they don't agree with me.

The injection made me ill as well I didn't want a coil because of the perforation risk so I used a diaphram (sorry spelling) It worked for me it only takes one second to put in and me and dp don't notice it and when I wanted to start ttc I wouldn't have to get anything removed or let the pill wear off.

I have just had dd and after my six week check I will get one fitted again.

@treedelivery - have opened a new thread

here

couldn't find one running that quite covered it.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 18/08/2009 16:08

Oh slushy a cap?

Never thought of that!

Going to have a think about that as well - am a mooncup girl so cap would be no trouble I woulnd't have thought.

jimbob thank you for your coil info...

Going to think some more.

Tamtam have you made a final decision?

slushy06 · 18/08/2009 17:33

yeah but I believe that a cap is slightly different to a diaphram as a cap fits only on the cervix but a diaphram covers more area and is easier to put in. The only downside is it has to be left in for 6 hours but I honestly can't tell it is in. Hope you find something right for you.

DS 11 weeks.
Contraception: Co-sleeping (currently aka no-sleeping) and frowning .

Apart from checking my BP this was all we discussed at my 6 wk check. Nice and quick but a bit, umm, pointless?

oneopinionatedmother · 18/08/2009 19:24

@mrs fix

6 week check - yup, pointless. if you had a problem, you'd have phoned them..

mrsfix · 19/08/2009 18:41

No. If I'd had a problem I would have posted it here

Patch has the same hormones as the combined pill. So not recommended if breastfeeding either.

I've had the implant for 6mo and love it, no more pill slip ups! My lovely GP did prescribe Cerazette for the first month I was on it ot settle any bleeding issues and I've been fine.
