i dont want to upset anyone so thought this might be a good forum to post on.
i am panicking to put it midly. i thought breastfeeding was a good contraception till i read some posts on here.i wish id done more research but after getting home with a leaflet from hospital 5 months ago saying it was pretty safe and also using withdrawal im still worried i might be pregnant . just a feeling . i am petrified!!!!

it's not failsafe

neither is the withdrawal method

get some condoms and a pg test

definitely not failsafe, I got pregnant with dc2 when my dc1 was about 5 months and still exclusively breastfed.

However, there are some conditions to bear in mind:

The baby should be under 6 months

Should still be breastfeeding at least every 3 hours, including at night

the mother should not have started periods yet

Unfortunately, I ticked all thse boxes and still got pregnant, but then this wasn't a problem as we wanted no2 anyway.

yep, i think i might be too late

(but for the record, by 18m dd was down to a 10min bedtime feed and it was still enough to keep my periods, and indeed conception, at bay. Hence the 2.5yr gap between badgercubs )
