having major wobbles.

dd4 is out of sorts. she is grouchey, clawing and generally being a grump. she keeps scratching me AND pinching me whilst feeding. she has no interest in the lowly breastfeeding neklace for her to twirl with, excet when she bites it.

i am thinking of giving up, calling her consultant and gettring a script for that allergy-formula.

but i'd say most of me doesnt wanjt to do that.

but i am utterly fed up of it. am tired of being pinched and scratched. am tired of being bitten.

am tired of no-one being asble to give me a break [selfish cow emoticon]

i am just tired.

Sounds to me like you should be congratulating yourself on managing to breastfeed a fourth child at all!! I cannot imagine how anybody can do that, it's hard enough with two children.

As for the awfulness of having no breaks and just being tired I'm right there with you......

Not very helpful I know, I guess you should keep going if you can but don't beat yourself up if you feel you have to stop, I reckon you've done fantastically well to feed a fourth child, for however long it is.

Completely sympathetic to your cause, i got utterly fed up of similar beatings from my dd at one point!
I think you're amazing and you don't sound like you want to give up, you just want it to be easier. and you deserve it to be easier!

she is 9month old this week.

have finally managed to settle her. she is cutting 4 teeth atm, so is a general grouch anyway.

hopefully she will stay asleep now. well till 1am at least.

i know how you feel. ds2 is 8 months. has 4 teeth and is getting 4 more. he is very grumpy (not like him) and very bitey.
last night he was awake every hour until 630 when he decided it was play time until 8.30 when he went back to sleep then ds1 got up! he also pinches and sticks his fingers up my nose!
whenever he bites or pinches i take him off and say no, then i lie him next to me for a couple of minutes before i let him feed again. this worked with ds1 and seems to be working again.
whenever i think of giving up i ask myself if i could really be bothered to do everything that ff requires and the answer is always no.

oh yes. so glad smeone is where we are now iyswim.

she also pops off the nipple, grabs me with both hands, laugh and chuckles at my breast adn then carries on no idea if i should b insulted or find it funny

after another bad night, i have a docs appointment for formula

i am just at the point now where i dont know what to do.

sophs allergy results are back, and i now have to cut milk, egg and nuts from my diet. whihc aseems too much to bear.

misdee, you sound very low.

If your baby has milk, nuts and egg allergy sufficiently strong for her to react at traces of these in your milk then formula is surely more likely to cause a reaction....even the hypoallergenic stuff? I may be wrong here - I know the protein in it is 'semi-digested' and that this is what makes the difference, so talking to the doc will clarify this.

One option for you would be to see if you can find someone who knows about breastfeeding and babies to observe a feed and try to help you get to the bottom of her 'rough' behaviour at the breast.

well we saw thwe gp, as soph has been clawing her ears and has umps on her neck. doc diagnosed an ear infection, which may explain the unsettle-ness and clawing nat me as well as herself. she is on anti biotics.

i have a script fopr the formula, but it wont be available until tomorrow. its nutramigen, which is what the consultant recommended.

i'm going to leave it a week and see how i feel and how soph is after her ear infection clears up.

oh and boots wo0nt sell me vitamin drops for soph until we have spoken to the elusive dietician, but i managed to get some calcium supplements for myself.

back to feeling crap and let down. everywhere i turn for advice *(admittingly not called breastfeeding helplines, but allergy ones) all say to speak to the dietician. which i cant get hold of.

i CANNOT go on breastfeeding dd4 if its making her unwell. i cant do it to her anymore. she is mucousy and upset again.

Have posted on your other thread but just wanted to say that when I stopped BFing on the problem side it made me feel soo much better - after the operation I was no longer in constant pain, was able to hug my older kids again (was too painful before that). Tbh if I had known how it was going to turn out I would probably not have Bf dc3 at all,,,,
