I've been breastfeeding my DS for 10mths now and I've lost count of the number of times I've had thrush. DS shows no symptoms apart from a red bottom and my nipples are sore again.

It's driving me crackers! How can some people complete breastfeeding and never ever suffer with it and me, I have it almost every couple of months!

AAAARRRGGGHHHH!

What in Gods name am I doing wrong????

Might be worth taking a high dose acidopholus tablet (sorry, I can never spell that..) every day too. Or mainlining natural yoghurt...

i found the daktarin oral gel much better for the ds;s than the nystatin. you can rub it all over their tongue really well instead of just dropping it in

and yes, thefluconazole for you, correct dosage, for as long as poss to get rid of it!

plus all thye other good advice re foods and washing bras.
also if you use breast pads at all then use disposable rather than washable, means you can change very frequently

hi, if the thrush keeps coming back, maybe have a blood sugar test as it can be a sign of diabetes. otherwise it's lay of the yeasty stuff and wear sensible knickers

Are you treating the baby? (I don't know how or if this is done, but if you have thrush he/she probably does too)

Look on the canesten website. They might have a product to help.
