V&D - will it affect my milk?

I woke up this morning feeling really ill with vomiting and diarrhea. I can't eat anything and am struggling to keep liquids down at the moment.

DH has stayed off work to look after dd but brings her to me to feed (which is hell when I feel like this!). We had no contingency plan for anything like this so no ebm etc.

Will my milk be ok if I can't keep down liquids?

Of course your milk will be absolutely fine and it is essential you continue feeding because that way, your baby gets the antibodies to the same bug you are fighting.

Your own intake of fluids makes no difference to your milk.

Hope you feel better soon.

Keep a glass by your bed of something like flat coke or I used water with some sugar dissolved in it - just sip at it in small amounts. I found it helped stave off that wobbly feeling.

Thanks SD, my dh got me some dioralyte from the chemist but it was too disgusting to finish.

I hadn't thought of flat coke, I'll give that a whirl now. I feel like I have a really awful hangover (without the fun bit ).
