Fussing with bottle

DD is 17 weeks tomorrow. For the last week or so she has been asking for her bottle as usual, drinking 3 ish ounces no probs and then starts pushing it out and playing with the teat for a long time. If I persevere she then will give up after a while and take the rest. Before this she was taking 6-8 ounces 5 times a day no problems. I manage to get the same amount down her with a lot of hard work but she has now started waking at 4 or 5 for a feed (but she is not getting less food). Any ideas anyone - it is driving me mad !!

oes she suffer from wind? Perhaps she needs a good burping before finishing her bottle or it could be simply that she needs a break, could you perhaps set her down and do something else for 10 mins before resuming? Or get a bigger teat, so that it goes down quick whether she likes it or not, or she may actually need a bigger teat, she may be getting fed up of a slow trickle!

Does she suffer...

Teething? Maybe the bottle is hurting her gums.

Thanks tamula/ chip monkey. I don't think it iswind as she always burps quite well during the feed. Also, I have her on Medium flow already so don't think it is this. I had begun to think today maybe it is teething so have tried some teething gel which may have helped a bit so maybe this is what it is !

Ah the dreaded teeth!! do you think it would be worth toying with the temperature of her milk so as to soothe her gums?! Not sure how successful this would be, just an idea!
