If anyone can offer any advise I would really appreciate it. I have a 5 week old baby and am BF but thats all I do all day everyday from 7am to 10pm my lovely little angel feeds none stop. I have really tried to go 2-3 hours between feeds but she cries and cries. Then after 10.00 pm she sleep until 2am and then 5am - This cant be right can it?? Her weight gain is normal, a dummy doesn't seem to settle her.. some times rocking does but without help I would not be able to eat or drink myself - What am I doing wrong - can she really be feeding so much?

I love her so much I want to do the right thing and BF but formula looks appealing right now, well it doesn't really, the thought make me cry but dont think I can go on like this.

Hi all. Thank you so much for all the messages of support so so kind of you all. Not only have you made me feel so much better but its also really heart warming to know that you can get such lovely support from people you dont know - thank you.

I'm not lying when I say I have had a better couple of days thanks to you guys, nothing has really changed but I have (like many of you suggested) just focused on enjoying feeds and spending so time with my DD. Instead of thinking I was a rubbish mum, that I was feeding her correctly and I have stopped focusing on all the things I haven't done. Whilst I would never want anyone to feel like I did, it did help me to know that others had been through this to!

Hopefully, fingers crossed, that dd's feeding calms after 6 weeks as many of you experienced but if not I may be calling on you all again!

I hope I can do the same to others and for you guys in the future. You really did make a difference. x

Wonderful news that your messages helped remove some anxiety & were effective in encouraging you. It is very intense in the early weeks, you are right to resist putting any extra pressure on yourself. All the best to you & your DD, treasure these days it goes so fast
