For the past 2 weeks or so my 4.5 month son has been feeding less and less off the left side, fussing and crying. I have tried different holds etc but he just ends up getting quite upset. I am also putting him on the left breast first and after feeding on the right, so he has a few goes but seems totally uninterested.

Am I going to end up lopsided? and is he getting enough from the one side (which there seems to plentiful supplies)?

Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Thanks

hi, i have a similar thing with my son (5 months) he has always prefered my right side so my milk has decreased on my left. i always do alternate sides still but tend to have to feed him on the right side almost everytime.
apparently its really common!
as for the lopsided thing that should be fine once you've stopped feeding... a friend of mine fully breastfed using just oneside after getting an infection and she's fine!

I had this too. At one point, DS2 refused outright to feed off my right boob and generally will only do so grudgingly. If he's feeding for comfort or when he's tired, he will only tolerate leftie.

You might be able to fool your Ds into thinking you are feeding him on the other side by using the rugby hold or on a cushion next to you iyswim so he's lying the same way that he would when feeding from the preferred side.
