shish - check with your HV. Water is not normally needed by formula fed babies, unless it is really hot and they are in obvious need. Not sure why guineamango is so sure they do

They may start to need it when solids begin, but I assume you are talking about a young baby.

Would echo the guru tiktok- I think I gave dd water once before she was weaned and that was when it was 35 degrees plus and she had had two full bottles in last four hours

I never gave extra water to FF ds until he started weaning at around 5 1/2 months. They dont need it unless they are constipated, it is really hot or they have started solids. If you did decide to give it then give it between feeds so it doesnt interfere with milk intake and limit it to an ounce or 2.

Thank you. I thought that may be the case. Ds1 was exclusively breast fed so this is all new to me. Ds2 is only 9 weeks old. So I guess I just keep doing what I'm doing for now?
