Is anyone a breastfeeding peer supporter? or ever used one? I am starting a course soon but not really sure what it all involves.

I just finished my training which was through the primary care trust but run by a lll breastfeeding councellor. Our training ran over ten sessions, we had lots of reading material and learnt about how breastfeeding works, about different problems and issues and we also did a lot of case studies. I found it really great and very interesting.

Sassyfrassy, after having 4 children I feel my brain is a little numb. Do you have to be very clever to do this course? School was a long time ago and I am a worrying that I wont remember anything.

gloomysue, I'm sure if you successfully breastfed one or more of your children (and I found it much harder to learn than most of the things I've studied in my life), you will be ok with the course. Good luck.

As Starlight says, it doesnt really involve studying, but more knowing where to find information and knowing when your're out of your depth.
