Bfing - painful blocked duct - help please

I've enjoyed pain free feeding for 6 months so it's come as a bit of a shock to wake this morning with what feels like a rock in my right boob. I've fed my ds from this side and he's satisifed and I've massaged the area whilst he's feeding (ouch!), but no change. Other than taking paracetamol what else do you suggest?
Thank you

Is the area red at all? If it is, or becomes red and especially if you develop a fever or any fluey symptoms make sure you go see a gp.

Otherwise, try feeding so that the baby's chin is pointing towards the blocked duct, this will help empty it more efficiently. You could massage it while in a hot shower as well.

Hope it sorts itself out for you,

As above, plus hot compress before feeding, or a hot shower on it before a feed, or lie in the bath with that side submerged. Try feeding in a few different positions (eg lying down as well as sitting up) each day to help drain all areas.
Hope it's sorted soon.

As purple says - differing positions really helps me when this happens - got it last night in fact and by morning had shifted. Hot shower if you can fit one in is fabuluous too altho that's not always easy with a 6 month old!! Good luck and hope it eases soon.
