How much EBM for 2 feeds for 8 week old?

I am just experimenting with expressing so that I can go out for an evening event soon without baby - my question is how much expressed breast milk should I leave for my partner to cover 2 x feeds for 8 week old daughter weighing about 11 lb?

THanks,

right need to do a bit of working out.... at 11lb she's around 5kg, so she needs 180mils for every kilo of body weight in a 24hr period... so that'd be 5x180=900... so if she feeds 3hourly over the whole 24hr period ( so 8 feeds) she should need around 115mils per feed, if she had less feeds then you divide the 900mils by the amount of feeds she'd normally have...

I'd also say to add a little more than they need, my DD2 should only need about 50mils per feed but would easily have taken 90mils when i was giving her formula top-ups a couple of weeks ago.

I don't work in mls, but have just looked it up and the above sounds a lot to me"!! - I think each baby is possibly differentwhen I tried this for my dd she had very little - about an ounce, ounce and a half, or very occasionally two ounces. I always overestimate as I don't want her to be upset if it runs out, so I store it in 1 oz bags in the fridge or freezer - nothing worse than chucking away precious ebm!! Tho in one evening a bottle can be reused.

She is 12 weeks now and has been having regular ebm from dh roughly 3 or 4 times a week - we started when she was 4 weeks and she had no diffs, tho did go thru a phase of not talking it at about 7 weeks until we realised we needed to go up a teat size (I didn't kmow there were different ones!

115 mils is just under 4oz... (30ml in an oz) which i dont think is too much for an 8 week old... my DD was 8wks prem and at 6wks old (still 2 weeks pre-term) could take a 2.5-3oz bottle... she's only 11wks now and would easily drain a 3oz bottle now at only 5lb11oz.

maybe thats just my DD, but the amounts i gave you as amount she 'needs' is from what i was told in SCBU when they were tube feeding her and working out how much she needed each feed etc.

Well, they are all different. I gave mine a bottle of 41/2 oz which she gulped down and wanted more!!! I think maybe she's having a growth spurt... thanks for your help both!
