can nipple size affect a good latch?

mine are as big as babys mouth, day 3 and i'm in agony. Thought it might be easier 2nd time round.

Hi Katie yes my bipples were always as big as the poor beggars head!!
However I found having a gentle push of the nipple stuck it out enough for him to latch

the first few days are painful but it goes away cabbage leaves are great and a warm bath
I also had 2 cool flannels for relief

Hi I saw your other thread. Have a look here www.drjacknewman.com at the latch videos for tips. I got into a dreadful state in the first few days with poor latch and it was largely down to ds not opening his mouth wide enough to take a good mouthful of breast.

(my milk didn't come in until day 3/4 btw)
