early evening nightmare

so it seems i'm back to the bit where dd feeds and feeds for ages of an evening; boobs empty out, let down astonishingly slow in the early evening - we wind up with an hysterical baby because there's no milk coming out and she wants to go to sleep, but she can't because she's not full... she won't look at a bottle though frankly at the moment i would give her f**king macdonalds if it would stop her being distressed and hungry, not to mind specially designed for an infant formula. i understand that this will eventually build up my supply but it seems from last time that my supply builds up over several weeks rather than a couple of days and i can't bear the idea of another two or three weeks of this. any advice about speeding up this process gratefully received...

Maybe try pumping a bit after some of your feeds earlier in the day...or boost the number of those feeds a bit as well if she will have it. For the evening feeds, try to go for frequency over duration....even if you have several nights where she is off and on every hour. If you are able to get some from the pumping sessions, and you feel it is necessary, you can use that to top her off with cup or syringe feeds after she has been at the breast.
Use compressions and massage prior and a bit during your evening feeds especially.
If need be, you can always try something like fenugreek to see if you get an extra boost with the frequency.
