Should I introduce a dream feed?

Help needed for a very tired mummy!

My little girl is 5 months old and is waking 2 times in the night for a feed. Her day goes something like this - she feeds every 3hrs during the day but will only drink between 2-4ozs of milk each time. Her last feed of the day is around 8.30pm and then to bed.

She then wakes anytime between 12am and 2am for a 5oz feed (the most she has in a feed over the 24hr period!), and settles back to sleep. Then wakes again anytime between 4am and 6am (drinks about 4-5ozs).

I don;t know what to do to try and get her to drink more during the day and get her sleeping more at night.

Does anyone think introducing a dream feed at around 10.30/11pm would help?? Or is it a little late in the day to start this as she is now 5 months old?

Today I am trying to let her go 3 and a half hrs between feeds hoping that she'll drink more as she's more hungry, but doesn't seem to be making much difference(!).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks x

my dcs have never had a dream feed either. I think that some (GF?) might recommend that for the 4 to 6 am feed try to give her cooled boiled water so she will be really hungry for breakfast bottle. However, your little one may be weaning soonish so try and stick it out for another while; it seems she just has a smaller tummy so little and often suits her best.
Another thought; maybe if she is happy to go 3 and a half hours between bottles, you are feeding her when she isn't really hungry and so she is "snacking" a little? My ds is 12 weeks and would drink 5-7 ozs at a time...
hth and hopefully you'll get a good night soon.
