my ds is 8days oldand I have been on a 5day course of 2 different antibiotics due to healing problems.
Today he started bringing up quite a bit of milk, reminded me of my ds1 who had reflux from birth.

Has anyone here managed to combat taking antibiotics and bf with probiotics. Would I also need to give them to ds?

Sorry to hear you're needing antibiotics so soon and hope you heal quickly now. some mums try taking acidophilus from a health food store to try to restore the balance or eating good quality plain natural yogurt (live). I'm not sure how much robust evidence there is to support either. You wouldn't need to give them to your ds as he will get all he needs through your milk. Antibiotics do sometimes affect babies' tummies a bit -sometimes they get more runny/smelly/green nappies or seem a bit windy, but it usually wears off pretty quickly once the course is finished.

There's a helpful BFN factsheet on antibiotics and also some info on kellymom on probiotics.
