Hi,
I have recently had a baby and i am bf him. Sometimes i have to express to make my breast comfortable as i get very full. I want to ask is it ok if i give the expressed milk to my toddler (who is 20 months old).I was not able to bf my toddler beyond 2months so want to give him if its ok. Please let me know.

don't see why not.

AnarchyAunt · 05/05/2009 14:17

It is absolutely ok

Congratulations on the new baby!

I don't know what the deal is nutritionally but DH tells me the two taste very different so he might not like it if he's used to cows milk

Or he may love it (it's sweeter than cows milk apparently) and you'll have all on getting him to go back to cow's milk when you're not so full...

I give it to my 4 year old sometimes and she was only breastfed for 6 weeks.

I mix it work cows milk

I have considered driking it myself..Or putting in in Dfs Tea

of course he can have it! Or you could freeze it if you would be happy to give the baby a bottle when he's older.
Congratulations on the baby

Defintely get someone to drink it over pouring it down the sink! Send it here and I'll have it!

Ooh this is useful - have got a few bags of EBM in the fridge and was wondering what to do with it now DD is 13 mo. Still BF but not given her cows milk yet, she's always had goat's milk on her cereal. This will be a great way to introduce it.
Thanks!

well my 28mo love his 'milky moo' still, so i dont see why your toddler wouldn't. Its so good for them it would be such a waste to chuck it away. Congratulations on your new little one
